Fun,chunky, weightless, maple tree flier inspired, green sequin ball, dark brass filigree wings.

These sequinned balls took me right back to the fifties, when my aunt made my sister and me pin-on velvet cord bows with them on the ends (though her sequins were held on with beaded pins), and I just had to find an updated use for them.

Chunky jewelry being the trend, and heavy earrings being an issue, these are a perfect solution, and I've actually made 5 pairs, all different colors and designs. Watch for them!

The green of these balls reminds me of the winged seeds our maple sends out at the end of summer (unlike those, these won't overpopulate your yard!), so I just added a filigree wingy thing, a green and purple Czech glass bead, and a decorative Bali-style headpin to hold it all to a large leverback earwire. The earwire is lead free, and should be nickel free, but I'm not absolutely certain, so if you want these on a different earpiece just let me know.

This piece should be fine under normal wearing conditions. I would, however, keep it outside car shoulder belts and away from animals and small children.
