Earrings Orange Retrochic

Earrings Orange Retrochic

Like seedpods or rosehips before they burst, these are round, look ready to fly. Earthy seasonal colors (yes, even the orange). 1950s here we come!

These sequinned balls take me right back to the fifties, when my aunt made my sister and me pin-on velvet cord bows with these on the ends (though her sequins were held on with beaded pins). I just HAD to use them.

They're a perfect solution to the chunky jewelry/heavy earrings issue, and I've actually made 5 pairs, all different, which I'll be listing here.

This pair reminds me of seedpods, or maybe rosehips, just before the seeds go flying. And I love the color--it's definitely orange, but doesn't scream about it.

In addition to a new green lucite leaf, these beauties have a few orange leaves and a yellow cube, also probably lucite, recycled from a dismembered bracelet, that just fit them perfectly. Like the others in this series, they look ready to fly off at any moment.

They are hung (with a bit of viney wirework) on goldtone hooks sold by a major (US) national retailer as lead and nickel free, and would love to be dancing below your earlobes.

This piece should be fine under normal wearing conditions. I would, however, keep it outside car shoulder belts, away from animals and small children, and out of bathtubs and swimming pools.
