Real mechanical wind-up watch, not a cheap quartz imitation. I have added a matching brass chain, plus a brass owl to whom I've given vintage watch part eyes.

The watches do keep good time if you remember to wind them morning and night, and the chain is 30" long to make it easy to check the time or just watch the watchworks chugging along.

This owl watch was on display locally, along with the spider watch in the last 3 photos. I've included the last photo, with a different spider, to show the exposed watchworks from the back. As I list this, this owl watch has been sold, but I can make you something similar -- not identical-- the usual caveat: these watch parts are vintage, supplies are limited. Though they're not vintage, the number of watches available is also limited.

Of course, since this piece is MADE TO ORDER, you can request specific bits (like this engraved eye, or a number ring) and I'll oblige if I can. And if you want a spider on your watch (listed elsewhere on The Creative Block) you can choose the colors of the vintage Swarovski crystals.

I can usually make one of these in an evening but it needs a day to dry and be checked, and if I have multiple orders, am doing a show, etc., it could take as much as a week. So please allow time for your piece to be constructed and for me to be sure it's secure before I send it to you!

All I have made of these have been sold locally, but I've just secured more watches and more owls, so wanted to give etsy customers a chance at them as well.

This piece should be fine under normal wearing conditions. I would, however, keep it outside car shoulder belts and away from animals and small children.
