Labradorite Necklace

Labradorite Necklace

Light but impressive, 20" long from back of neck to bottom of pearl and labradorite combo dangling from handcast Indonesian silver shell. The pearls may also come from Indonesia, though I'm guessing China. They aren't really black--more a warm gray with purple, green, and occasional other overtones--but that's the term for undyed dark pearls. These were sold to me as natural and, as far as I can tell, they are. And they are huge--about 1/4 inch across and from over 1/2 inch to a good inch long. The beads are all from Czechoslovakia, and are crystal or glass with an aurora borealis (think rainbows) finish. Strong but flexible 21-strand beading wire holds it all together. There is no clasp--it goes easily over your head. The photos (which I've just retaken) STILL don't do this piece justice--it has a subdued color-shifting glow with bits of sparkle that just can't be photographed.

Truly a splendid piece to wear or give for any special occasion.

This piece will be fine under normal wearing conditions. I would, however, keep it outside car shoulder belts and away from animals and small children.
